Ryan Loew is a journalist who lives and works in Lansing, Mich. He is currently a staff member at the Lansing State Journal, where he not only writes stories but also shoots and edits photos, video and other multimedia content.

Since he moved to Lansing in 2007, Ryan has covered homicides, tornadoes, presidential campaign stops, fires and fatal accidents, trials, county fairs, strikes, partial state shutdowns, elections and even a rhino surgery. He’s covered the schools beat and written stories about a boy fighting for life after he suffered a brain injury in an amateur boxing match. He has also produced in-depth multimedia stories, including one about how a Lansing man wrongly convicted of murder struggled to get back on his feet after his exoneration.

Before moving to Lansing, Ryan studied journalism at Kent State University in Ohio.

The son of a bus driver and an English teacher, Ryan was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio. He gets the most satisfaction from telling stories that matter most to people in his community, wherever that may be.
